A farmer is selling some of his animals.
1.  The farmer sells ¼ of his 72 cows.  Show how to work out how many cows he Sell.

1/4 of 72.
72 divided by 4= 18
18 x 1 = 18
4 x 18 = ?
2 x 18 = ?
2 x 10 = 20
2 x 8 = 16
20 +16 = 36
36 doubled = 72

4 x 18 = ?
2 x 18 = ?
2 x 10 = 20
2 x 8 = 16
20 +16 = 36
1/2 of 36 is 18
36 doubled = 72 = 144
